Grow tresh flavor.
Inahasa
small kitchen garden so, of course, she can’t
grow everything she cooks with. But she
plants what she loves best—basil, rosemary,
fennel, salad greens, and tomatoes. And
while her garden beds reflect her culinary
tastes, her edible plantings also invigorate
her creativity by providing fresh ingredients.
She grows lots of basil—whole beds of it. Her
favorite is ‘Genovese’, a spicy big-leafed
variety that’s great chopped julienne style
for caprese salads. Ina edges her basil beds
with rosemary. Her kitchen garden is like
her outdoor pantry—
filled with flavorful
possibilities at every turn. “For example,
if I’m making roasted tomatoes with basil
and walk past the thyme, I might try adding
that to the dish.”
